Mercedes-Benz recently revealed the A-Class L version of the sedan in China and one week later, X-Tomi Design made the first AMG A45 sedan rendering based on said model.
Tall order, trying to turn a compact Mercedes sedan into something worthy of the AMG badge. In an effort to create a sporty looking four-door, X-Tomi has added a multitude of design elements from the E63. In a side-by-side comparison, you’ll the same black wheels, similar air intakes and front bumper features.
While the production ready sedan’s design is still up in the air, we do know that the A45 will be powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. Capable of producing in excess of 400 horsepower, or so Motor1
says, the engine will be paired with a new 4Matic all-wheel-drive system.
Also to be offered is a less powerful A35 four-door sedan, speculated to deliver around 300 horsepower. That’s enough for it to go after the likes of the Audi S3 Sportback and Sedan while its more powerful sibling is geared to take on the RS3 Sportback and Sedan.
Both the A35 and A45 will come in both four-door sedan and five-door hatchback configurations. Fans should be on the lookout for a debut date sometime in the second half of this year.
