Mercedes-Benz A-Class Could Arrive This Year

We’ve seen spy shots of the latest Mercedes-Benz A-Class sedan and the automaker even released a teaser trailer earlier this month. Now we have news of a sale date from Autocar, though Mercedes has yet to officially comment on it.

Speaking with a Mercedes spokesman, they were told that the brand’s BMW 1-Series Sedan and Audi A3 Sedan fighter will start appearing on showroom floors in August with a sleeker CLA to be released next year.

There’s much to like when it comes to the A-Class sedan including its very substantial lineup of 9 engines, which should include a 1.5-liter dCi and 2.0-litre diesel units, though these option may be limited to the European market. Additional petrol offerings listed by Autocar consists of a 1.4-litre, 1.2-litre four-cylinder, 1.6-litre and a 2.0-litre M260 unit.

If that’s not enough to tickle your fancy, Mercedes will be releasing the next generation CLA, which is expected to be sportier than the A-Class in terms of handling and design. There’s even rumors of a 48V plug-in hybrid variant that’s powered by a 1.4-litre petrol engine and has an all-electric range of 31 miles.

Perhaps Mercedes-Benz will reveal more information as we approach the A-Class sedan’s sale date this fall.

Lucky for us we got a teaser of what the production version could look like, but its too bad this happened after the detriot show and not at it because it would have been more of a reason to show more of what we'll get.

If it's going on sale in August, I'm expecting the build page to go up at least once month beforehand so people can start ordering their A-Class. Can't really decide on which powertrain to go with, mostly because we don't have a concrete list to choose from and the pricing list.

I think that dealers should have information even well before that, even if its just an allocation we can secure. Plus who knows maybe some of you here will be happy with some of the pre-configured models they will have on the lot rather than configuring your own.
